Are professional headsets only for contact-centre agents? Not even close
Headsets carry a stubborn reputation as call-centre equipment — something an agent wears because they’re on the phone all day, not something a regular office worker, a hybrid employee, or a warehouse picker would ever need. That assumption shrinks the market and misses most of the actual reasons a professional headset earns its place. Why does an open office need headsets at all?
Open-plan offices have a documented noise problem, and it’s gotten worse rather than better. A widely cited Oxford Economics and Plantronics study found that only 1% of employees could focus at their desk without taking some additional step to block distraction — down from 20% just three years earlier. Does a headset actually make you sound more professional on a call?

A worker holding a phone or two-way radio to their ear has one less hand available for the task in front of them — climbing, lifting, operating a pallet jack, or simply walking safely through an active floor. A hands-free headset removes that specific friction point: both hands stay free for the actual job, while push-to-talk and dispatch communication continue uninterrupted.
